Love is in the air this week but is the honeymoon period well and truly over when it comes to cleaning your house? Let’s be honest cleaning your home can seem like a never-ending job, and quite frankly it’s easy to fall out of love with this task. And so, at Exeter Cleaning, we have come up with some tips to help you fall back in love with cleaning your homes.
Remember why cleaning is important – Remember we have to clean our homes to keep our loved ones safe and healthy. Don’t be afraid to teach your family about why we must complete certain jobs around the house. Why not rope them in where you can?
Make it fun – Make a cleaning playlist, so you look forward to your housework as you’ll get to listen to your favourite tunes.
Buy new cleaning products – We don’t know if it’s just us but when we buy something new we’re so excited to use it! For example “treat” yourself to nice-smelling disinfectant. We’re currently obsessed with Zoflora’s Midnight Bloom and want to use it at every opportunity we get!
Clean Smarter – Find tips and tricks that make your cleaning easier. We have a weekly Top Tip Tuesday series on our social media pages (Facebook and Instagram) where we share ideas to make your housework easier. These are definitely worth checking out. Some include utilising your dishwasher for household items and using a lint roller on your upholstery etc.
Invest in the right tools – Again, make sure you’re making your life easier by using the correct tools. And also new tools are fun! For example, investing in a hand-held vacuum means you’re more likely to whizz that around more often than lugging your vacuum around the house.
Clean in bitesize amounts – If the thought of cleaning the house is overwhelming choose just 5 jobs to complete that day. This way you’re still being productive but not stressed out by the copious amounts of scrubbing and polishing you have to do.
Treat yourself – Once you’ve completed your tasks, reward yourself. Whether you do this by lighting a new nice-smelling candle in the clean kitchen. Sitting down with a hot drink in the newly cleaned lounge or relaxing in a nice hot bath whilst admiring your sparkly clean toilet!
