With the Easter holidays drawing to a close, the children are going back to school and normality is about to set in. This means it’s time to get your houses and homes back in order! Here at Exeter Cleaning, we have come up with some tips to help you survive the post-half-term clean-up.
- First things first, take a deep breath and brace yourself for what lies ahead. The chaos that ensues after half-term can be compared to a tornado hitting a toy store. Clothes are strewn about, dishes are piled high, and every surface is covered in Easter egg wrappers, but we’ve got this!
- Now it’s time to tackle the laundry. The piles of clothes that have accumulated during the week will likely take up most of your time. Don’t be surprised if you come across some interesting items in the mix, chocolate-covered tablecloths, and wine-stained clothes (for us adults). It’s best to just laugh it off and keep going!
- Next up, is the kitchen. If you’re like most people, you’ll be faced with a mountain of dirty plates, cups, and cutlery. But you can make reorganising your kitchen enjoyable by opening a window and letting some Spring fresh air in and blasting out some of your favourite songs.
- Now for the kids’ rooms. This is where things can get a little tricky. You’ll likely encounter a range of toys, clothes, and general messiness. Our advice? Make a game out of it. See who can pick up the most toys in 5 minutes, or who can stuff the most clothes into the laundry basket. Just be sure to give yourself a pat on the back when you’re done.
- Finish off your jobs by giving each room a little once over. Declutter, vacuum, and use lots of anti-bac! Then put your feet up and appreciate your hard work. The whirlwind that was half-term is over and you can get back to reality!
