The January clean up!

Getting your house back in order after Christmas can seem like a mammoth task and so here at Exeter Cleaning, we have come up with some tips and advice to help you tackle the January clean up! What better time to reset your house than at the beginning of a new year?

Remove anything Christmassy

If you haven’t got rid of them already, the decorations need to go! Take down the Christmas tree, store those baubles away for next year and anything with a bit of Christmas sparkle or glitter make sure removed!

Concentrate on your kitchen

Your kitchen has most likely seen a lot of cooking at this time of year, spend time cleaning your oven, cupboards and extractor fans. Get rid of any Christmas food or anything out of date too! If you have the time, get organising – restock that spice rack, restack those tins!

Disinfect surfaces

If like many of us this Christmas you were taken down by the flu, now is the time to disinfect all hard surfaces. Concentrate on things like door handles, tv remotes anything that may get overlooked and will harbor lots of germs!

Get your house plants on display

House plants may have been stashed in a corner, forgotten somewhere in order to make way for Christmas decorations so now’s the time to get them back out on display. Give them a clean and a water and let them brighten and freshen up your home.

Let the vacuum do its thing

Pine needles, glitters, broken baubles if there’s one job you can’t miss out on this January it’s vacuuming.

Declutter

It seems that the decluttering never ends sometimes! However, you may have new gifts to store and so out with the old and in with the new. Bin anything that is of no use to you anymore!
